Why do so many people hate Hamilton?

Whilst I agree that ‘domination’ is a factor. (We all like to support an underdog, when the underdog has no chance we tend to turn on the winners) The biggest reason is subiliminal. He looks different, talks different, acts different, raised differrent..

I hate to be that guy but I’m clearly gona have to be

When I hear comments from work colleagues saying; “I’m not a fan of hamilton, I dunno he’s always tryna be hard, with his hair and music, he’s a wannabe rapper.” You have to read between the lines.

Lewis acting hard? Seriously, all you see out of the guy is peace symbols and talking about positivity and love on the team radio lol the guys soft and is quite happy to show that side Of him off... (which is a difficult thing to do for a young black guy in England, only the richest black people can afford to soften up like this!)

Wanna be rapper? Coz his hairs In braids... I’m a mixed race guy, as is my younger brother, my cousins are all mixed race and black, every single one of us has at one point in time had braids, grown their hair out, had a period where they experimented with different styles, lengths etc and below the surface a lot of that is about exploring your own blackness... Lewis didn’t have that opportunity as a young teenager, Ron Dennis was his boss lol, he had a buzz cut like he was in the army all that time... (like my friend that was suspended from grammar school on his first day because his hair was Afro length, they made him cut his hair short, like Lewis. His family were Rastafarian, hair is a big deal to all black people and is about more than just your appearance)

Wannabe rapper? And that’s a reason no to not like him? If Sebastian Vettel is into songwriting and sits with his guitar and sings and writes folk music at home in his downtime, talks about it now and then, maybe a video goes up on his social media about it would he get the same ridicule. Absolutely not because to many f1 fans rap music is synonymous with black activism, explicit descriptions of sex, drugs, violence... Knowing Lewis, I really doubt that’s the kind of rap music he’s into... He’s more likely to be listening to conscious rappers, neo soul artists (singing/rapping about life, love, positivity, strength, change) than he is to be inspired by rick ross and meek mill ‘gangbanging’ of course the guy I’m talking about won’t have ever heard a full rap song in his life and wouldn’t have even thought that there maybe more than one type of rapper

Lewis was and is the only black driver in f1 and he says the same about coming up through junior categories, whilst growingno up he would have just tried to fit in! We all did, growing up a minority in England is hard, your pigeon holed and you have to fit in, adapt or revel which rarely turns out well for us... you either find yourself and your confidence as your still going through later teenage years or you don’t find it at all. He’s a confident, charismatic, character in f1 he listens to rap music, he has his hair braided, he wears jewellery... he wouldn’t have never seen jewellery like this when he was younger... his peers, Nico Rosberg probably grew up in a house where mum has a jewellery box with actual jewellery in it... my mom had a jewellery box... it had my baby teeth in it, no precious metal or rare stones lol. I would imagine Lewis is Closer to my experience than Nicos... he has a different view of life, he’s in touch with suffering, with injustice, because he’s black! He wasn’t a sheltered kid, he wasn’t given special treatment, he is a god damn hero for me and many like me... its so disappointing having to defend Lewis’ hairstyles or whys he always got headphones on, or what’s all this fashion stuff, I don’t understand it.” What’s there to understand!! Do you not have hobbies?

so Lewis is just different and he’s into black stuff he should just fit in and race and be quiet. This attitude Is classic British racism... “this boy needs to know his place.”

I’ve completely lost my way with my points, I’m in a rush and trying to get ready for work but I feel it’s important to menition coz noone ever does... I’m not mad about it, I don’t have an agenda I’m a mixed race guy grew up in England and still live here, I’m also a massive sports fan and black British sports fans have witnessed the same unfairness levelled at other black british athletes at their peak... we made fun of Linford Christie’s ‘lunchbox’ more than we congratulated his achievements, frank Bruno, Daley Thomson to name a few... all mistreated by their own press. I don’t even have to mention football in the 70’s/80’s

Look at where Lewis is polarizing too; europe; mostly Italy, Spain and even splits the crowd in his own country... where as he’s popular with everyone In South America, Middle East, Asia. This is not just the tifosi booing him Coz he beat the Ferrari. Mansell was almost treated like one of their own in Monza - in a Williams that destroyed Ferrari You can’t tell me that ignorance, racism and classism doesn’t have a part to play in this ‘hate’ I’m not even saying it’s deliberate it’s subliminal, it’s societal, it’s conditioning.

It’s also older fans, young f1 fans don’t have much personal to say about Lewis, they’re just bored that Mercedes keep winning, some older fans seem to be very bothered by Lewis on a personal level, they don’t like what he represents.
