Many of the sexual assault victims in Hollywood are not blameless.

This post is Hollywood specific. In other industries, it gets complicated.

1) Like you said, if the industry requires expertise, it's different. Not that entertainers lack expertise, but their expertise is very different from an engineer's or a doctor's. In your example, I would not tell Alice to quit Waymo, and I certainly would not tell her to quit the industry.

2) The functionality of industries is also a factor. Say there's a cancer research firm, whose CEO is abusive to employees. That's horrible, but the project's end goal is to alleviate the disease, if not cure it completely. I'm not saying Hollywood is useless, but there's no comparison between the goals of the entertainment industry and curing cancer. If someone continues doing cancer research for a firm where she has been abused, it's very different from continuing to star in movies for an abusive producer.

Good talk, I have to get going. Thanks!
