Many of these proposals are reversals of the tax cuts that got us where we are today, namely the capital gains tax and income tax. With Congress lowering taxes at the federal level, this is an opportunity for Oklahoma to increase their revenue without inflicting increased tax burdens on anyone.

I think it's 11 and change in Sapulpa. I know when I was living in Kellyville and doing field service, since I had to go to the airport anyway to offload outbound parts, I'd swing past the Walmart on Admiral and Memorial where it was "only" 7.something%.

I may be slightly salty about this, given one of the few positive aspects about Oregon is that sales taxes are unconstitutional (and held roughly in regard as a violation of basic human rights), and it's actually illegal for companies shipping from Oregon to out of state customers to collect sales taxes for other states. Oregon has juuust enough influence in the region that if you have an Oregon driver's license, Washington, Idaho and British Columbia won't charge you sales taxes (or PST in BC) and Revenue Canada has posters up at malls and near border crossings reminding Oregonians that they can send off for a refund of the GST they paid. All just to get Oregonians to actually spend money instead of going, "Well, I could buy it now...or I could go home and pick up the same thing or an acceptable substitute at Fred Meyer when I get back."
