Mizrahi jews in the Middle east are descendants of Jews who moved to Mesopotamia after Babylonian captivity of Israel and later migrated during the Persian empire so Iraq,Syria,Lebanon,Jordan,Egypt,Iran,Azerbaijan,Armenia,Anatolia,Kurdistan,Afghanistan and Pakistan etc.
Maghrebi jews can sometimes be classified as mizrahi due to them living in "oriental" cultures they are descendants of jews who after being sold as slaves by the Romans and taken out of Judea were sent to The Maghreb; Morocco,Algeria,Tunisia,Libya.
Now Sephardi Jews were taken to Spain from Jerusalem and Bethlehem by the Romans and enslaved in Hispania. some sephardi jews about 35%+ are descedants of Jewish Moors who conquered southern Spain in 700 a.d and settled their hence why many sephardi jews have Arabic surnames like Abbas and Alaeddin (No joke) the lived there and could be classified into two communities (Latinized Judeans and Moorish Jews)
in 1492 the spanish monarchy issued the Alhambra decree expelling all Jews and Muslims from the Iberian Peninsula. the Sultan of the ottoman empire at the time Sultan bayezid ii sent the Entire ottoman navy to save the Jewish refugees he then resettled them in places which would be good for commerce,trade and mercantile work Specially in Turkey,Egypt,Palestine,Algeria and to a lesser extent Beirut. some Spanish exiles fled to morocco were Many andalusian muslims had fled to. the Spanish exiles or (Sephardim) that moved to Ottoman Palestine merged with the local Mustarabi community creating one larger "Palestinian Jewish" community were traditions of both the communities became one. In Turkey the Spanish exiles became the Vast majority making 90% of the Jews there. in Egypt the Spanish exiles made 40% of the population and in Lebanon only 22% percent
because the Mizrhim,Maghrebim and Sephardim all primarly lived in what is called the "Orient" the Middle east and North africa. all three can be considered "oriental Jews"
