Because they are religious laws enforced in the country I live in. When did I ever claim to be oppressed? You keep implying that I've said this but I haven't. To answer your original question, you tell me. Before the revolutions, before other governments picked favorites and backed them, these countries were fairly progressive. Women weren't oppressed, things were prosperous. And yet, they were still muslim countries. So what happened? Zealotry. The same strain that created shit like Breitbart.
