The simple thing we disagree on here is that this was his last temptation. While that indeed might have been the originally intended apex of his character journey, Lucas also never wanted there to be an episode 7 at all. And I don't think Luke being the crazy powerful Jedi we see in legends, nor the crazy perfect person he may be were we to simply continue to plot his trajectory from where we last saw him.

That said, fair points if you disagree. It's subjective, and I can see why, if you weren't on board with that idea, it would be an issue. You bring up many other good points as well. Thanks for the interesting conversation. Sorry for being short at times. I think we can all agree that Star Wars, in whatever direction they might be, inspires some pretty strong emotions and opinions.
