First time shaving with something other than a cartridge razor. Used this as a guide, gonna need more practice but it felt quite nice and no cuts so was a good start in my books.

Merkur 34c with Astra SP blades
Proraso Green Pre-shave
Proraso Green Shaving Cream
Proraso Aftershave Balm
Rockwell Synthetic Brush
I've got a few beginner questions that I was hoping to get help with.
Do I need to dry the razor, shaving cream or brush in some specific way? I've got a small bag that I keep everything in when I'm not shaving, which I usually do 2-3 times a week. The videos showed a way to dry the brush so I did that and left it out for a while but I'm not sure about everything else.
I feel like stuff gets stuck in the razor when I'm rinsing it unless I loosen it a bit while rinsing. Am I doing something wrong?
How aggressive should I be when I lather the shaving brush? It felt like I needed to redo it every time and didn't get nearly as much lather as the videos. Barely made a dent on the shaving cream itself.
