She founded “God’s Love We Deliver”, the most successful free food delivery system for home bound AIDS patients. Started in the 80s, it’s still going strong and has fed millions for decades. She’s also raised hundreds of millions of dollars for AIDS related patient care, housing and research. More than the Elizabeth Taylor Foundation. She’s a religious nut, but so are tons of politicians. At least her religion, ACIM, is basically Buddhism, despite its use of Christian terminology. Not as gross as most religions. And she wants universal healthcare. I wouldn’t vote for her but she’s no dummy and can be very effective when she’s motivated and the things she’s done for AIDS patients were clearly not done for profit. I don’t hate her.
