Marilyn Manson. AMA.

I'm sure I'm late to this party, but I'm still curious so I'll ask, do you remember this at all?

Not too long ago I read a short article from a member of a band about them opening for you in the mid 90s back when you would have been just starting out on your own headlining tours. I wish I could find the article, but I'm about 90% positive it was someone from Daughters because the story took place in Providence.

Basically the long and short of it was this dude read an article about you and then shortly after got a call from a club promoter asking if his band would be the local opening act at the show. He said yes because he was intrigued. The band was a little out of place; we're talking about noise rock that still isn't very well received, let alone then for a goth/industrial show you would be putting on. They are a sweet band but it just wasn't the right scene. The got bottled, booed, what have you.

Shit got out of hand and a fight broke out involving, I think, a stage hand/security dude from whoever was opening for you on tour and the band. The band got the fuck out of there, and was chased by the same guy they got rough with along with some other dudes.

From that same story the band managed to get out of there, but also somehow managed to cross your path and they said you had good things to say about them and were supportive. I feel like this would have been before you were big enough to just blindly give support to any local act who opened for you, let alone one who (inadvertently) started shit with the crowd and your tour opener, so I'ld like to think it was genuine.

I really wish I could find the fucking article, but I doubt it will even matter as it's been hours now since you started this AMA.
