I used to be a huge fan of Marina's, but I left that wagon once she released LOVE + FEAR. Ever since the release of that body of work, I couldn't really connect with her music anymore. I will say that both Purge The Poison (the actual single, not that cringe-worthy, laughable remix, obviously) and Ancient Dreams In A Mordern Land both changed that for me, though. They sound like something Marina And The Diamonds would write, produce and sing. It has some sonic elements that remind me of The Family Jewels era, and some lyrical ones that remind me of FROOT and I love that. I really do.

For the first time in years I'm feeling excited again for Marina's music and I have my fingers crossed this upcoming album won't disappoint.
