Mark Cuban Thinks Owning an Esports Team in the U.S. is an "Awful Business" | FAIR GAME

The revenue for eSports has risen from $130m in 2012 to $1.1b in 2019. That's almost 1000% rise in 7 years and it's estimated to rise to $1.8b in 2022.

Is that not solid growth in the industry? What would you class as solid growth?

The point is there's a lot of money in esports and the amount of money is only going to get bigger and it's getting bigger very fast. All these investment companies are putting money into esports even though they know they will lose cash because they can see how big the pot is getting and when it does go legit they want to be there to cash out.
