Mark Hamill Hates Star Wars The Last Jedi

kids want to be different and still carry on these stupid traditions...

but every time a good star wars spinoff that WASNT from lucasarts came out, it was always crushed after reaching niche appeal, never brought out to be more than it could've.

the good books and video games (not the shit ones) that actually built onto the story in interesting games, like comic books people made, and KOTOR based off them... all went the way of the dinosaur even if their stories were interesting.

now Disney buys it and its just more shit to get their agenda out there.

lets be frank people -- if you've followed art, movies, tv or video games since the 80s or 90s, you know modern corporations have absolutely no interest in evolving the arts that were great in those times -- they were too hard to produce and replicate for massive profits...

not to mention the creative liberties that were allowed that might be damaging to other ideas. the use of myth and story to relate to aspects of reality that questioning might be dangerous.

no, instead we have forced feminism in art, which to me isn't a huge deal all the time -- I don't care if a female character is in something genuinely. there were tons of great, strong female jedi in the lore and expanded universe. powerful women can be sexy and attractive in a positive light too as a main character.

but no, they just up and do these things in areas where its not natural. they go above and beyond to make it something its not, to retcon anything that gave substance as well.

no, its just like this girl gets instant force powers of high magnitude, and is basically a ridiculous character.

no lore building, instead just cut n paste of new characters, get rid of the old.

you can tell its just another IP -- maybe a high-budget IP, but just another thing they got.

star wars, like many of the things we loved, was a unique perspective piece of art at the time. it represented something to its author and to the audience.

but hamil is telling the truth, its all about money and what makes money -- and they know from previous experience people will buy anything with the IP on it, so why waste effort making it good? why care about the core story or purpose?

I always felt the gradual death of myth and free-storytelling and art was part of a larger conspiracy. if people think too much, believe too much, they can actually act on those beliefs... I think they are at this point trying to breed out individual dissent and expose people to subjects in order to get them to comply with new ideas and a new order subliminally
