Mark's Improv Class and Current Humor

Thank you so much for reading my post and for responding. I know it was long and I really appreciate the fact that you read it. Also, it's so cool that you're an emerging YouTuber and I really appreciate your perspective on this issue. I only have the perspective as an audience member when it comes to YouTube personalities and the way they act why they do, so I truly appreciate having your perspective.

I wholeheartedly agree with your comment. He's very aware of his audience and aware of how best to please them. The monetization point you bring up is valid, since most of his income does come from YouTube, maximizing the amount of income he gets from his videos is in his best interest. In terms of his audience, 20 something female gamers who would like to watch his more emotional LP's are in the minority. I believe that if he does decide to cater to that part of his fanbase, he will have a lot of games to choose from.

If I may, I would like to examine part of your final sentence ("...but why not go out-of-the-box once in a while, for your other fans?") and try to figure out why he has opted to go towards the games that easily elicit a knee-jerk reaction as opposed to the more emotional story filled ones.

To preface, I am aware that Markiplier is open to playing different kinds of games and has done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Also, this response is going to be split into 2 parts because I went over character limit.

To examine your point, I'd like to compare Markiplier's LP of To the Moon with the other videos that he subsequently released around that time. I am using the Markiplier Wiki to determine which games he played at the same time in order to make an apt comparison.
