Married people of Reddit, what’s one thing you didn’t learn about your spouse until after your wedding day?

The list is nearly endless. What’s weird is that most of it was volunteered by her. It’s not like I asked her something and she lied. She would just start talking about something and I later found out she was lying about it.

It all came to a head this year when I found out she was lying about a couple of serious things, mainly someone she’d previously had a relationship with and told me she didn’t when I had asked her about it earlier in the marriage. Well one day this guy is sending her love letters from boot camp. Spent a month fighting and fighting out she was lying about some stuff. Went to counseling and worked on it for 4-5 months. Then in August I found out she was lying about something else, this time lying through omission. Something she should have told me but didn’t.

I’m not going to lie, it’s been pretty miserable this year. But she’s pregnant now and I’m a decent human being, so looks like this is my life now.
