Mars Is a Hellhole - Colonizing the red planet is a ridiculous way to help humanity.

Your comment just proves how completely absurd people in r/futurology are. “Prove how money will get spent on homeless if not on space exploration” What are you talking about? We already elect people that support giving billions to explore Mars, so it’s our fucking job to vote for candidates who decide to do their actual job and use tax dollars and resources they have to fix humanitarian issues. Is electing politicians to fix our problems more unbelievable for you than finding a unicorn on mars? Did you write this comment with your eyes closed?

And since you think both things can happen, how come theres still poor 1.5 million homeless? How many times do I have to fucking ask this before you read it with your eyes open? Yeah sure the military budget would be nice, but like, so wouldn’t the space budget? Why is it incredibly horrific for you to at least wait until most people have been lifted out of decades of their suffering before you escape into your space fantasy? If that’s a fantasy in and of itself, it’s easily preferable to working towards wasting our money on fucking mars robots. It’s clear if we worked towards rational decisions, everyone can get what they want.

“What a ridiculously naive issue” SAYS THE GUY THINKING MARS WILL SAVE EARTH. What a complete cesspool of lunatics in this area, and since when did this become a debate of what’s “plausible” to occur when YOU ARE totally okay with accomplishing nothing that matters to half the people in the fucking country?
