As a matter of fact, I agree with you that it is not necessary to ask "Where's Shelly?". This has already been investigated by the police, and it turns out that Shelly Miscavige is at the Lake Arrowhead compound in California, where a special LRH archive is located, that is designed to survive a nuclear war. That's where she is. We could certainly ask why she is there, and why she has been there for over a decade, which is a long time to be kept hidden away like that. However, I have no reason to think that she has not agreed to be there, or that she does not remain there of her own free will. The police did come to speak to her, and she did not ask to be rescued. Maybe this was a mistake on her part, but she is allowed to make mistakes. Lots of abused women do not want to leave their abusive husbands because they don't know what else to do with their lives. They live the role that they have chosen, to be dutiful wives, even when that turns out to be a very unpleasant or difficult role. That appears to be what Shelly Miscavige is doing. She appears to be both a loyal Scientologist and a loyal wife, so if her husband and cult leader wants her to be in the Lake Arrowhead compound, that is where she will be.
