Mary Trump said she thinks her uncle genuinely believes he won the election, and that he's the only person she knows 'who can gaslight himself'

The death of a spouse really fucks with people's heads.

Same thing happened to my Uncle. He was always economically conservative and tended to vote Republican, but hell, he went to a church with a gay preacher and listened to NPR. When my Aunt died he lost his moderating force and had nothing to do all day but watch Fox news. It's seriously so sad, I miss his old personality.

My Aunt worked in the international students office for a University which has many students from the middle east and North Africa, so the department was severely impacted by the Muslim ban. I know if my Uncle had watched her struggle through that, there would be no way he could continue supporting Trump, but sadly, my Aunt had passed a few years before Trump was elected.
