Mass Shootings are Not a gun issue, they are a mental health issue

Agree or disagree, the thing that really gets me on a statement like this is that, for sure, we should improve how we deal with mental health in the US. Maybe by offering better care, maybe by making more money available (many of these people aren't going to be able to afford it themselves,) maybe by better screening processes, etc.

I have anxiety and depression, but it took years before I realized that was the case, even having access to great health insurance. Simply because the overall awareness is terrible.

So in saying all that, what kills me is that now that it's tied to the gun argument, people will argue against improving support for mental health. Like fuck you, don't dismiss this real problem just because it's tied to the gun argument. Why not, do something about it. Why can't we just all agree that improving mental health in the US is going to benefit everybody.
