Massage therapy?

I have, I've been getting it for about two years now and it's been the most helpful thing by far. I see a woman who specializes in Chinese medicine/traditional acupuncture. I think that type of acupuncture is a lot better than the other type I got from my physio therapists, which was very rough and extremely painful. The traditional kind is very gentle and all based around relaxation. It's more about how energy flows through your body than targeting specific muscles (like the physios do). My acupuncturist says that after a viral infection "damp heat" can get lodged within the body causing a whole number of problems. This is basically the Chinese medical term for CFS/Fibro. I don't actually know a whole lot about it but I trust this woman fully knows what she's doing.

I used to get chronic UTIs or possibly it was interstitial cystitis (a common problem in young woman and also a symptom of fibro) and I got sick with it 3-4 times a month. No doctor had been able to help me with it, I thought I'd have to live that way forever. But within 2-3 treatments from my acupuncturist inconjunction with taking Chinese herbs, I was absolutely cured.

I also got horrible, horrible migraines that would just take all the life out of me for days at a time. Vomiting and all. Again, the doctors weren't very helpful but after only a couple of treatments I was cured. I haven't had one since, and I was getting then at least weekly before.

I stopped treatment for a couple of months over Christmas because my acupuncturist was moving to a better practice. I got so much worse and my fatigue was unbearable. I grew to be as sick as I've ever been. Started back at acupuncture about a month ago and I've made so much good progress ever since. Even the debilitating body aches are way better.

Thanks to her I don't have to take any prescribed medication and I have some quality of life back. Sorry for blabbing on, I just want you to know how absolutely vital the right kind of acupuncture treatment can be to some of us. Please try it if you're considering it, but be sure to find a good therapist :)
