The rest of us have been pointing fingers at Putin this whole time… I think most people who say “Russia” do not mean the whole of the country’s citizens, they mean the Russian government and/or military, depending on context. I totally agree that Putin is the main culprit, and that there a millions of innocent citizens both at home and on the front line who want nothing to do with war. I’m sure there’s a select few who blame “all Russians”. Just like there were people who blamed “all Asians” for covid. But those people are extremely ignorant and few and far between. I wouldn’t assume that’s what people mean when they say “Russia”. Although it is a good reminder to keep bringing up. That there are innocents both in Ukraine and in Russia.
