I never said I would refuse. I gave caveats, not in the interest of being entitled, but because I have asked this question before and people give absurd, unsound advice like "work as a bartender till 2am". They mean well but they don't think through it first. The comment recommendations were simply to bypass the less useful advice and to see what people would do if they were in my situation.

Nevertheless, thanks for your advice. I teach biology. Also, I cannot count on finding a partner to take on my financial problem. That isn't fair or even respectable. I will try to do the PSLF (I plan to work in a title 1 school), and will do the IBR. However, does an IBR consider the massive debts you have? Or just your income?
