I am very much not a blame the victim person. You can look through my comment history and see that I have consistently been voicing support for women in similar situations. A huge part of ending rape culture is teaching men not to put women in this situation. But a smaller part of it is teaching women to be more vocal in their wishes. Physically giving off clues of uninterest and saying "I want to take it slow" are not the same as saying a simple "no". An attentive man will still pick up on those messages, but a drunk and horny 20 something probably won't recognize those weaker signals. It doesn't sound like Aziz had ever presented any degree of physical harm to this women and he had no real control over her. At some point the women involved needs to either be more vocal or simply leave the situation. It is clear she only stayed there because of social pressures. I wish those pressures weren't there, but that isn't the world any of us live in at the moment.
