That said, I don’t really see a problem with those things. If he brought in the ropes , it would also favors the others team hitting. As long as it’s the same for both teams I don’t have a problem with any of it. It would be a bit extreme.

Not sure how this is relevant to the quality of the pitch. You said the pitch in the first test was shit when it wasn’t. It was a very good cricket pitch with a bit of turn to make sure there was a good balance between bat and ball.
