Match Thread: Italy vs Israel [World Cup Qualifying - UEFA]

The problem is that you Italians really believe all that hype.

Donnarumma is talented bit over rated. How many goals did he ship against with the U21? De Rossi may have been a WC winner but he's a spent force. Anyway Iaquinta is also a WC winner. Verratti is not playing well, but I'll give you that, he's one of the few talents you guys got. Belotti is a scoring machine - in Serie A. Calls me when he scores goals in the CL. Bonucci is a great defender as part of Juve's 3-man defence, but nowhere else. Insigne is talented but incosistent.

Basically you have named the only two very good players you guys got, Insigne and Verratti, and neither is really a world beater. Then Donnarumma and Belotti, yet to prove they can do it on the big stage. And a couple of washouts. That's all you guys got. Sorry, it's not a lot. You simply have a bad batch of players, there's no shame in admitting it. Happens to everyone every now and then.

Instead of getting all uppity and arguing with strangers on the internets, you should start questioning your FA to find out why Italy doesn't develop talent the way they used to, or the way Spain and Germany and France seem to have no problem in doing.
