The majority of these creators signed onto Defy when their channels were young and Defy was a pretty legitimate MCN. As explained in the video, taking a cut of their employees paychecks wasn’t too big of a deal until Defy began to exploit this to make themselves look larger. I guess if you really want a reason to call these creators idiots, the only thing I can think of is all of them where young and wanted to get out into the world at any costs. Really, all of us are like that though. This problem isn’t about greed, if it was then they’d all be fighting to take that $1.7M all for themselves instead of recognizing that its belongs to all 50 of those creators, its about being exploited and lied to for years by people that they looked up to and trusted.
