Of course, if he ignores it and talks about immigration or economics, people will say what you're saying, that he's not doing enough to fight that perception.

The underlying point of my second paragraph above was that he's neither ignoring it and talking about the economy, nor is he spending time 'screaming that he's not some far-right racist neo-nazi'.

He's doing neither of those things exactly... His twitter time is disproportionately spent in constant denouncement of a minority of progressive extremists (as he desperately tries to rile up his base against Trudeau by painting him as one of them).

His base (certainly on here) seems to claim that he's just more concerned about the economy, and is above all that -- but that is not apparent at a glance.
