Bintaro

Only slightly more interesting as a Chindo kristen Bintaro (there are dozens of us, maybe literally), all our neighbors was apparently concerned enough and did a lot of siskamling. Mom says that's how they got to know each other. Probably true since I was born later and barely know my neighbors (I can't even say if most are chindo, pribumi, muslim, etc), lol.

I suspect deep down they weren't too worried, almost right behind the complex is a short uphill road with (an always was as long as I can remember) Koramil Pondok Aren just beyond the intersection, basically overlooking Bintaro Permai and sektor 1 from above (or it would if it weren't for all the trees), and my dad said they managed to borrow a tank to display as a token at the housing complex entrance.

He also said the Chindos at Kelapa Gading had the luck to mostly be on the same boat wrt military protection, leaving Glodok and Kebon Jeruk as the stage of the infamous clips circulating the web today.

Oh and fewer high-ranking officers live in Bintaro in the Reformasi era for some reason, or at least that's what mom said in the 2000s reminiscing how much less often they got mati lampu in the old days. I wonder if that only improved somewhat because the Polsek moved next door-ish during that time.
