Maybe Taxi Drivers Don’t Hate Progress, Maybe They Just Don’t Want To Be Poor

But the above chart is almost entirely meaningless.

When you try to produce a real comparison of what Uber drivers make compared to what taxi drivers make the situation becomes much, much murkier.

There are other factors that may make it still harder to come up with a useful comparison.

We don’t really know, then, what an Uber driver makes compared to a taxi driver.

This is not a really, great insightful article. Just a rehash of the MIT study that got released. At least the author agrees:

There is reason to be skeptical of the MIT number, because they’re so different from prior estimates, and it’s hard to evaluate them given that we only have access to a short summary of the findings.

The premise of the article and perhaps the title was written before the rest of it. Every single point in the article betrays or refutes the premise. This is clickbait. Can't even be mad at the author because they repeatedly acknowledge that the premise of the article can't be supported.

This really doesn't belong here.
