Why are they designed as if they have to accomodate an engine up front?

There's still a shit-ton of electronic that has to go somewhere.

Why do they still have vents and grilles as if there's a radiator?

In most cases, there aren't any.

Why can't the entire front end of the car be see-through if there's no engine?

Is that even a real question?

Why is there a "frunk" accessible only from the outside, instead of integrating that space into the cabin like a hatchback?

Dashboard: electronics + airbags + air vent system. Plus how and why? So you can get off your seat on the highway to get that suitcase out of your field of view?

Why isn't the floor completely flat when there's no drivetrain?

It is?

Why are there still controls in the middle, when they could be on the dashboard

Because it's more ergonomic to have everything under your hand while seating in a natural position.

Why am I charging it as if I'm still filling a fuel tank between the rear wheels?

You want your electric outlet in the middle of the roof? Its usually to the back so people can back up to their parking spot and plug their car without requiering a 10 meters long cable. See the complaints when it's into the front bumper.

why not bring the brakes inboard too and make the handling lighter?

We tried to, the results are shit. Plus heat for other components + need air for cooling.

But they aren't even trying to move things forward.

You ask for better handling and then complaint about low and well distributed weight, all while wondering why there isn't a sort of empty transparent space at the front.
