[McTaggart] Baker on Straw: “A lot of people were yelling, ‘Get him out of there,' but the season was very, very young and you have to give a young player time to learn the league and the pitchers he’s going to be facing and actually learn himself. ... He should be proud."

Proud of what exactly? He still has a whopping 76 OPS+, among the very worst for any qualified outfielder in the entire MLB. He is worth less than half a point (0.4 bwar) above replacement so far as well (hardly anything to applaud) which is kind of crazy because its rating his defense as above average when anyone watching his dumbass make terrible reads every other game can tell this is not the case.

Chas, in much less field time, is already worth more value (0.6 bwar) per the objective metrics that the Astros organization and any fan not fully up their own ass consider valid.

TLDR fans were right. Straw still sucks. Chas should be the primary CF.
