Adventurers called Gourmands seek to rid themselves of The Hunger by killing and eating two of every kind of Monster.
Gourmands wear white chef uniforms and use over sized kitchen utensils to kill Monsters rather than weapons.
Despite their role as a source of meat, certain Monsters called Free Range Monsters are allowed to live among humans as equals.
This all takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth, by the way.
