Well, everyone can buy a plot of land at a very cheap price in the middle of fucking nowhere. Be a farmer and live of their own harvest.

this isn't nearly as cheap or realistic as you think it is, starting a modern farm requires serious capital that people who live paycheck to paycheck will never see. unless you think you're just going to make seeds, irrigation, living space, livestock, farm equipment, etc. appear out of thin air in the middle of nowhere. nevermind the fact that this wouldn't realistically be a success even if you did have some startup cash though, and completely ignoring the fact that people have spent their entire lives being trained and getting used to modern comforts and then acting like they're weak cause they can't go live in the woods.
