Medical doctors are the most exploited healthcare professional

Some of them maybe. I can only speak for the ones I’ve worked with, which were radiation oncologists. They have to give devastating news to families, make decisions that effect the lives and wellbeing of children, etc. I remember thinking damn they really do deserve the money they get. But that’s the thing, they do get a fuck ton of money. And lots of other people are necessary to make the treatments actually happen, like nurses and radiation therapists, dosimetrists who actually design the radiation treatment plans, physicists and engineers who maintain the accelerators and verify the radiation dose is correct, IT that manages the computer softwares necessary to make it all happen, etc and there’s only so much you can charge for each treatment. At the end of the day, the physicians are largely there to know things, make decision, and delegate the work. Multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars per year for one person’s contribution feels like a fair amount when you consider that some people in the chain make mid 5 figures imo.
