Medicine should forget about healing the body and focus only on 2 things, brain transplants and cloning. Cancer? New body. Broken your leg? New body. Got flu? New body.

Old age? New body. That's the elephant in the room. Aging is 100% fatal.

Some people will always pipe up with "Yeah, but what about overpopulation if we extend the human lifespan?" OK, so only offer the procedure to people who haven't had children. Lots of religious or otherwise luddite people will want none of "your weirdo science stuff". They can have babies instead. No problemo.

Also to get around the ethical issues of growing a clone just to kill it and take its body, remember xenotransplantation. Not pigs but how about a primate? We kill animals for every reason now. If you can eat a guilt-free hamburger, you can engineer a chimp to help you live another 50 years until something better comes along.
