Meditation is not useful!?

Meditation is thought manipulation and nothing else. Simply focusing on the “present moment”/not engaging in daydreaming is not going to do anything but build mental stamina in relationship to that particular focus.

People are then building up romantic narratives about themselves “discovering” the beauty of life. The so called beauty of life is produced by thoughts just as the ugliness of life is. Meditation as a practice is an excuse for people to get into the idea that they now are in possession of something wonderful called awareness.

It’s no different from people getting a compliment from a person and now feel the urge to love that person. Except in meditation one convinces ones self of ones own positive transformation through this magical “focus” and then builds ones identity around that romanticised idea of the present moment. The present moment isn’t inherently beautiful, you have to actively PRODUCE beauty yourself and meditation is the language game people can use to escape into a beautiful world. If you observe these meditators, they are as arrogant as anyone else.

To experience a beautiful “present moment”, one has to PRODUCE it. There is no experience free from thought and if there is, it has no relevance to your life, it is an empty thing. The wonderful present moment people talk about is a narrative and nothing else.

This sub like any other is filled with people trying to actively produce and defend a certain basket of ideas.

There’s nothing right or wrong about this. If you want to be well, be well, choose it. Meditation is the act of putting ones self in a narrative to one can motivate ones self to actually choose a well lived life.
