Also since you said you don't really know her music, check out this song which lennon made with the plastic ono band (eric clapton on lead guitar). The part in the middle perfectly shows the unhinged and raw nature of yoko ono's appeal.

It's a complete show stopper and even the other instruments have trouble getting into the groove again. The first time the lick is played again clapton actually misses a note. Obviously he didn't really, but that's the kinda aesthetic they were going for.

Also if thought that song was strange listen to what paul was up to post beatles. I think NME magazine put it best when they said "wonky electropop that didn't sound so much ahead of its time as out of it altogether" (stumbled upon that quote when I looked it up on wikipedia to see when it was released)
