MEGATHREAD - James J. Hamula Excommunication [First Quorum of the Seventy]

Maybe i need to take my meds but it seems to me like the last sentence in the article is a little to convenient. Either they are dropping a bread crumb or attaching his name to assassinate his character. Its the last thing said in the article so your left marinating.

From 2009 to 2014, Hamula was a member of the Pacific Area Presidency, headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, according to his LDS biography. Upon his return to church headquarters in Salt Lake City, Hamula served as assistant executive director of the Church History Department from 2014 to 2016. Before his removal, he was serving as executive director of the Correlation Department.

In 1989, the LDS Church removed George P. Lee as a Seventy, the first American Indian LDS general authority, and excommunicated him for “heresy” and “conduct unbecoming a member of the church.” Lee later admitted to attempted child sex abuse. He died in 2010 at 67.

The Salt Lake Tribune will update this story.
