Megathread: Current events and the responses from our politicians

I'm a nice, moderate person who happens to be a Democrat in the Northeast. I belong to a house of worship, obey every possible law, belong to a Judeo-Christian house of worship, avoid liquor and gambling, etc. etc.

The main impact of me voting for Democrats is that maybe I'm voting for people who'd increase my taxes, to send the poor people who are more likely to live in Ohio than they are to live near me, and maybe to military bases that are more likely to be in Ohio than to be near me.

And people like Jordan and Portman generate campaign contributions and votes by encouraging people to destroy my government, kill my representatives, and want me dead.

I'm not their constituent. I can't even really call them because it's fine with them if I'm dead. They have no need to take me call, even if they somehow let something like democracy continue to exist in something that resembles the United States.

But I hope they have social media people who might spend at least one fraction of a nanosecond feeling something scrap of guilt for basing their campaigns and careers on trying to encourage their constituents to go to war with me and slaughter the people who represent me in Congress.
