Megathread: Joe Biden announces Kamala Harris as his running mate

Okay but what policies do you disagree with Trump on?

Anti-abortion, check

Complex, I don't know, some ways good some ways bad. Not really a big fan of what the south is doing (heartbeat bills, etc). The republican party itself has been slow to adopt policies that actually reduce abortion - Free birth control is stupid easy, it is probably the only healthcare intervention that pays for itself, and it does so several fold. So yeah, being against abortion doesn't just mean "make it illegal!" even if for some cases (late term, etc) that is probably the right apprach.

Reducing social programs, check

Again, depends which ones. Wealth transfers, I'm onboard. Food stamps? That's as much for farmers as for anyone else so yeah also we don't want people literally starving in the streets, this isn't a 3rd world country we can afford to keep people fed.

Reducing education spending, check

What the fuck I didn't say that. I said school choice. If anything we should be increasing spending. Our schools are beyond F'd. Luckily I live in a liberal state that actually invests in education but holy heck we need more education spending, but also we need smarter education spending. If I can choose my college, why shouldn't my kids be able to choose elementary school?

More border control and more power to ICE, check

50% good! Yep no problem. My problem is with his draconian immigration limits. I work in an industry that desperately needs people who can do hyper-specialized engineering and we've literally lost employees due to stupid H1b limits put in place by Trump admin. It's not a matter of us not paying enough for americans, it's that there aren't enough americans that can perform the work we need done.
