Megathread: Joe Biden Wins South Carolina Democratic Presidential Primary

Is that the lesser evil? Perhaps. But think of the long game:

1) The President's party ALWAYS loses in the midterms, especially in the House. Would you want the House turning red again in 2022? Or the Senate turning more Republican? Giant nightmare. 2) On the same note, Republicans would do even worse in the 2022 midterms. Imagine a bluer house and a blue Senate. We could get ACTUALLY progressive things done. 3) RBG will probably serve as long as she lives which could be through 2025, and Breyer is not so old that he can't stay another four years. Under a future Democratic administration beginning in 2025, we could replace Clarence Thomas. So the 7-2 forecast is a worst case scenario.

I choose playing the longer game to get a progressive society with universal healthcare, higher minimum wage, liberal judges, etc. over voting for anyone SIMPLY because they are against Trump. A truly liberal wish list is in reach. We must simply be patient. We get none of that if Biden wins in 2020. All that potential lost. It would be a complete shame. Think beyond Trump, for all our sakes. (Oh, and if a Democrat wins this year, they will only be able to get shit done through executive orders, so you might not want to criticize them so much for now).
