[MEGATHREAD] Kavanaugh/Ford Testify Before Senate Judiciary Committee

It will at least up his odds, especially with the swing votes. It would stop them from losing the vote of many women for many years to come.

And of course, they could have morals and think it's just a decent thing to do.

It would change my opinion on Kavanaugh, but not enough for him to be nominated to the supreme court. He literally broke the law in his testimony with the senate by committing perjury (said "no" when asked if he had already watched Ford's testimony). I think the many lies about his drinking, while not provable, are also disqualifying.

Temperament and politicizing are also deal breakers, but not as much as his betrayal of the law and his role as a judge. I would not necessarily blame senators for voting for him if this was the only issue, even if it would fundamentally damage and change the institution of the Supreme Court.
