[MEGATHREAD] The Pro Pack Dilemma

I believe their goal is to repeat what they did last year to drive private coin prices up - increase the amount of NA players, and make everything scarce so it costs more, thus making a basic purchase more expensive on the AH, drying up everyone’s coin stocks.

But they really fucked it up, not realizing that nothing can stop the coin selling sites. The only thing that can is if EA became coin sellers themselves, and undercut the Asian market. Constantly track the exchange rate for madden cash as it relates to coins themselves, and give users the option to buy either, say, 500 madden cash or 5,000,000 coins. (A conservative estimate, seeing that any enterprising madden user can currently buy him or herself 10,000,000 coins for $8-12 depending on the source).

It’s pretty simple. But, doing something like that is a big ask for EA. I can’t really see their madden mobile department delving into these economic metrics too deeply. They’ll stop beating that dead horse when it quits spitting out money.
