[MEGATHREAD] In regards to YouTube drama.

Hello everyone,

I made an account just to share some thoughts about Grade, so if I brake some kind of Reddit rule, please inform me and I am sorry.

I am subscribed to Grade, Pewds and Markiplier and honestly I find all of them funny and enjoyable. I don’t feel offended by what Grade said about them and I am not mad in any way, I’m just concerned about Grade.

So from what I read on Reddit and what I’ve seen I’ve seen in Grades videos I came up with a few thoughts: 1. Grade seems unwilling to change his behavior/ He doesn’t react well most forms of criticism. o He wrote many times that he doesn’t want to bottle up his emotions and that’s why he speaks the truth (what is on his mind). If he doesn’t do this the stress will affect him later on.  What I get from this is that he is saying he is not concerned with anyone’s mental wellbeing except his.  He feels better reacting in certain ways to the people that he feels are “attacking” him. Most of these reactions are aggressive in one form or another. On both sides. o On other occasions he questions the people that attack him:  Questions their right to do so? • I don’t really think that anyone has a right to judge you unless you have a negative impact on their life. I think that’s why a lot of people are here, because they feel angry, disappointed etc. But some people try to make observations on what happened and just try to assess whether or not what was done was right or not. Feedback.  Questions their need to do so? • How does this affect you? Why is this your problem? o The connections I have with a lot of the youtubers I follow is that I start to see them as a close friend. o So I understand why some people may be affected when he demonstrates behavior/actions that are possibly incorrect or immoral. o Also, the fact that he asks this makes me wonder how he sees us, if he expresses concern towards us. (I understand we are a huge community and I don’t expect miracles. Just a question I think about.) 2. Of the interactions I’ve seen with Grade I can see why he is associated with drama but I agree with him that there is not enough to actually label him as a “Drama Whore” or other such terms. o Simply put the amount of activity he has on the internet related to drama is insufficient when compared to his other activities. Which are mostly related to comedy. o I think the manner in which he tried to disassociate himself with it was what attracted more drama/hate.  The people he had in his videos never attacked him personally, the fans did, but they were the one that got attacked.

Solutions? 1. Grade, consider again some of the feedback that you get. Some of it might actually be useful and might help you become a better person. Also, you can speak your mind without insulting the people you talk to. It might be hard but I think that makes a community be less toxic. 2. This is related to the community more. Everyone involved needs to be more considerate of how they say what they mean.

Sorry if I made any mistakes, English is not my first language but I tried. Again, I mean no disrespect to Grade or anyone. Just trying to make sense of everything and offer some feedback.

Have a nice day!
