Megathread: Republican Health Care Plan Passes House Vote

Now I know there is way more to Obama & Trump Care then just this one issue, but explain this for me.

How did anyone think it was a good idea to require employers of over 50 people to provide healthcare to their employees if they worked over 30 hours a week?

Did no one think employers would just cut their employees hours to 29.9 each week to get around this?

Prior to Obamacare coming out I was able to work 40 hours a week at my job. I'm a college student still on my parents heath insurance. I'm simply working to put myself through college so I can receive a full-time job that gives out real health insurance. I don't need my part time job to provide me with healthcare. What I do need my part time job to do is provide me with money. Since the passing of Obamacare I was forced to reduce my hours each week from 40 to 29.9. That's a loos of 10 hours a week, 40 hours a month. Making $12 an hour, that's $480 a month, $5,760 a year, I'm loosing out on, pre tax. Obamacare cost me money, by reducing my hours per week. Now I'm faced with possibly having to pickup a second job to recoup this money. Even after getting a second job, I still won't have employer provided health care like politicians want me to have.

I don't blame my employer for cutting my hours, they did what they had to do. I would have done the same thing if I were in there shoes. I blame politicians for thinking that mandate was a good idea.

I'm all for affordable universal health care. I give Obama HUGE props for starting this journey out. But things are not working the way they currently are. Do I agree with all of Trumpcare? No, I do agree with many parts, but I'm hopeful it pushes Obamacare in the right direction.
