Yeah, we got screwed. If I would of stayed on the golden path of college to graduate on time, didn’t have life circumstances happen. I could of been done and a good job before 2008. But now, it’s a bit late. Even renting a house is expensive now. It really takes a partnership to do much on what was considered middle class. 50k a year, health insurance plus bonuses in the early to mid 2000s was doing decent. Now 45k is the minimal it seems to get by, and 100k+ a year and single is more middle class.

However pre 2008 home loans were easy to get. Now they do have rural development homes these days. Those are usually what I see I newly married late 20s early 30s couples buying. But to win you need that 100k plus a year, or if under find someone that will marry you and out your with your that makes the same. I use to not as much in my late 20 and early 30s, but a potential partners earnings and career path is very important to at least match mine. If we want to build a successful future, to have a house and all the normal stuff.
