Melinda is quiet now

I have accomodations through my campus' Victim Services (I already had an advocate I've worked with for other trauma related accomodations) that gets in touch with the Dean of my school to ensure that I never have to turn on my camera for any classes or club activities.

I'm a child pornography survivor and I tried to make it work as I am a senior and really want to graduate on time, but all my classes are on Zoom this semester and I physically couldn't handle having my camera on for the single class I tried to do it for.

I also have to go in for paper exams as proctoring software gives me the same issues. I haven't had a problem with professor confrontations over the camera issue, probably because of VS helping me out, but sometimes professors say shit like this during class or I see things like this and it really makes me feel terrible.

There is such a huge difference between IRL classes and having your camera on. I know that my specific case is not common but like this guy says, lots of people have reasons for not being able to turn their cameras on and its frustrating as fuck when people don't even pause to consider why someone would be unable or unwilling to turn their camera on for a class.
