We the members of Students Say No, the organization that lead the student walkouts last April, stand in solidarity with teachers across Ontario on strike today. No cuts to education!!

I will see if I can find the grid, but I'm in my 15th year of teaching and I am now making about 92k. My only option for a pay increase is to become admin or department head, which is a lot of extra responsibility for an extra $3000 a year.

To get there...I started at 42k. I had to get a specialist, which was 3 university courses - Co op part 1, 2, and 3. That is alongside of my other extra courses, spec Ed 1 and visual arts 1 which I had to take in order to have the requirements to keep having a job in my school, let alone board. All this is after 4 years of University (usually 4 + teachers college)...I took concurrent education...so 4 years and teachers college was mixed in.
