Why do men always see me as the “side girl” or the back up?

Same thing with me, I'm an independent women and praised for it all the time but I'm constantly being it up by married men in fact I work with a lot of married men who I've actually become very close to and consider them some of my best friends. I've been told many times because I'm independent I'm seen as someone who can not be controlled and I deserve and certain kind of man, they describe that man as a thug with a heart..someone whonisnt insecure like these cheating men and women who put up with it.....I consider it a compliment. I'm ok with being single, I have a strong daughter I need to raise, so I'd rather be single then let her see her mom be taken advantage by a man. So until I meet that thug with a heart which probably won't happen till later then life I'm ok with that. The father of my child is a narcissist who abused me in every way so I've learned to be a fighter and always stand up for myself, So I'm ok with where I at. So if you take anything g from this, be proud of where you are at.
