My take on this is the there's probably zero or slightly negative correlation in reality, but you perceive a r=.20 positive correlation between hotness and personality traits because when you're attracted to someone you subconsciously overlook minor annoyances. If you already had some way of taking into account or controlling for this bias (e.g. interacting with men blind first, making an evaluation, then meeting then to see how attractive they are) then please correct me.

In my interactions with men (which are likely to be more objective than my impressions of women) I can't say I see any significant correlation between attractiveness and other positive traits. I know smart/intelligent/considerate guys both attractive and ugly, and I know assholes who are both attractive and ugly.
