Men as 'providers'

I guess as a gay man it is slightly different but I don't see myself as a provider but rather I don't want to feel as though I'm not carrying my own weight in the relationship.

Regarding being the primary provider, as 'woke' as many people like to claim they are you would be surprised at how much belittling of guys who earn less than their partner occurs out there - that they're not 'man enough' if they're not the major bread winner. Yes, men need to change their mindset in many areas but also women need to change their mindset as well when it comes to choosing partners and/or gossiping with friends to move beyond just saying the 'right thing' in public but then doing the complete opposite in their private life.
